I recently had dinner at a very fine, authentic French restaurant, Jubilee, on First Avenue at 52nd.
I had heard very good things about Jubilee and they’re all true. Owned by a French husband and
Wife, the husband is the chef and his food is really authentically French. Cozy and charming, you
Feel as though you’re dining in their living room. And considering the Sutton Place crowd they attract,
Surprisingly reasonable, too. To start we shared a large order of real, true duck foie gras at $19.
There aren’t too many restaurants serving real foie gras but here they have it. As soon as I saw sea scallops
On the menu (with orzo, porcini sauce and parmesan $30) I had to order them. Sublime. I loved every
Bite. My friend had the salmon with lentils and they were also excellent and only $28 which seemed
Reasonable considering the very large portions . Dessert was an order of heavenly decadent chocolate
Cake and for my friend, a cheese plate with a selection of three cheeses accompanied by warm rolls,
Apple slice, walnuts and fruit chutney. Dinner was superb and we are anxious to repeat the experience.
